Patio Church

One day Kristan and I got tired of driving 20 minutes to a church (passing countless other church buildings to get there) only to spend an hour sitting in a room before hopping back in our car and driving home.

So…

We started a church.  They say 85% of church plants fail in the first year.  Whoever “they” are that say that are fools.  Seriously, don’t listen to those guys if you have the itch!  I am not that talented…we just had a great plan and God’s grace.

I’m a big believer in church planting.  Nothing would thrill me more than a mass exodus from the traditional model of “pack em all into one big service” towards a more missional, communal church planting movement.

The Patio is our community of faith.  Our plan was to exist “exclusively” for the 450 homes in our neighborhood, Reedy Fork Ranch.  There are hundreds of other churches in the rest of the city all vying for everyone else – God bless those guys, we are on this though!

I often get asked how we “do” it.  Short answer: We have a strategic, simple plan; we don’t waste $; we don’t try to be something we are not.

I love church planting.  You would to.  If you want to talk more about it email me: reedyforkmike@gmail.com

  1. Would you please email me? My wife and I are in the process of planting and would greatly appreciate any insight provided.
planting is new to me…my dad was a church planter…I have always been on staff at established churches until recently.
To be honest…this is a desire God had planted in me a long time ago and it scares the living crap outta me.

    My email is jimmyeldridge@mac.com

    Thank you very much.

    Jimmy
