16 in a row!
March 6, 2008 at 1:43 am | In Misc4 | Leave a Comment“Never underestimate the heart of a champion”
- Rudy Tomjanovich (Houston Rockets coach)
It was 15 years ago that Rudy T spoke that line after the NBA finals where the Rockets claimed their first championship. The next year, they swept Shaq’s Orlando Magic for two in a row. Since then, not too much has happened.
This year though, Yao and Mcgrady led Houston to a perfect February. After news broke that Yao would miss the rest of the season a lot of fans were disheartened thinking our championship hopes were gone. 5 games later – Rockets still roll on! 16 wins in a row beats the franchise record set back during the season of Houston’s first championship.
Next up, Dallas. Today I told Kristan I hate the Dallas Mavericks to which she replied, “Hate is a pretty strong word”. I told her if I knew a stronger one I would use that!
Yea, in the grande scheme it may not be that important…but I don’t watch basketball to think about the grande scheme. I watch to see my hometown Rockets destroy Dirk and the Mavs.
