Gary Lamb on “Calling”

Read this blog.  Seriously, stop reading this and go read Gary Lamb’s encouragement to trust your calling.

Exactly!

I just have one comment to Gary (who I am sure won’t read this), “Where was this post a year ago dude?”  I am so thankful that God brought us through all the junk we were going through a year ago, but it would have been so easy to quit!  Blogs like this are what keep guys in the ministry Gary.  Thanks man!

We can’t help it if we are young.  We can’t help if if we aren’t great leaders yet.  We can’t help it if we haven’t finished our seminary degrees yet.

God could have called us to plant The Patio in 10 years when we would all be in our 30’s with 17 different seminary degrees and teaching at Leadership conferences…

But He didn’t.  He called us NOW!  If there has been one thing that I was sure of at day one it was the timing.  All the other stuff came later.  Over the last year God has confirmed this calling to us in so many ways we are beginning to take it for granted what He has done!  He chose us in our weakness.  He chose us with our lack of education and underdeveloped leadership skills.  He chose us with our empty wallets at a time when half our church is going back to school.  Its so freakin weird that you can’t even be frustrated – it has to be God.

I love that we don’t have it all together!  We have to depend more on Him.
