Coming Alive

I just began the book, “Re-understanding Prayer” by Kyle Lake.  So far I have only gotten through the introduction, but the writing style of the author has me really psyched about this read.

Speaking of prayer, it seems like we get a lot of “Yes” answers from God around here.  Not bragging (if that kind of thing can be bragged about), just commenting on something that seems to be true.  Honestly, I don’t know why I’m surprised.  Didn’t this whole endeavor begin with a calling from the answerer of prayer anyway?  We talk a lot about how we are “participating with God” here at The Patio…its pretty cool that we are so clearly seeing His end of the deal!

We were praying for 3 things at the beginning of the summer: a worship leader (or cultivator), a place to meet, and for our core team to grow to 25 people.  As of this evening we have our location secured, the perfect man to be our worship cultivator, and 19 people in our community of faith.  Bottom line, God is showing up in a big way.

So, let this blog be a catalyst for those of you who have been praying about The Patio and haven’t made a commitment yet.  I still believe we are going to come out of this summer seeing God answer all three of those prayer requests!  I don’t know who the 6 people God is going to get out here in the next month or so; but whoever you are, get your butts in gear!
