God’s opening doors (to the refrigerator)

July 16, 2007 at 7:48 pm | In Community | 3 Comments

Since I graduated college and got married there has been the occasional temptation to exercise more.  Usually it happens when someone brings out some photo of me in college.  Amazingly my weight hasn’t really changed as I have put on the perfect amount of fat to balance out my muscle loss.

Anyway, since Nolan was born my temptation has turned into conviction.  See the difference?
Temptation = Bad (This is what Satan does)
Conviction = Good

When it was temptation I could resist and feel like I was winning some spiritual battle.  In the most difficult of times I would simply pray that God would supernaturally hide my running shoes or open a door (like to the refrigerator) to give me a way out.

Alas, now it is a conviction.  I have to do something about it.

  1. Tonight is my last night of work so I will be available during the days. We should start working out every day. We can swim in the AM and then lift weights in the PM. Mladen has a nice set-up with a weight bench in his house. What do you say?

  2. YES! I’m in for some idealism – lets also eat nothing but brussel sprouts and cabbage!

    In all seriousness, I’m down.

  3. You guys are more then welcome to use the weights, just don’t drop any and wake me up.

    Brussel sprouts and cabbage… eghhhhhhhh!!!!
    Can it get any worse? If you do that then you can forget about me joining this workout thing.
